The basics

What is allora?

A social app for sharing photos and video with people you know. It looks familiar on purpose — a feed, profiles, stories, direct messages. The difference is what's missing: no advertising, no recommendation algorithm, and no page full of strangers.

What does "allora" mean?

It's Italian — roughly "so", or "well then". The word you use to start the actual conversation.

How does the feed decide what to show me?

It doesn't decide anything. You see every post from every account you follow, in the order they were posted, newest first. That's the entire rule. Nothing is ranked, promoted, demoted, or held back to be shown at a moment when you're more likely to react to it.

Is there a web version?

It's coming. allora is built to run on iPhone, Android and the web from one codebase, and the mobile apps are the first to ship. When the web app is ready you'll be able to sign in here with the same account.

Money

Why does it cost money?

Because the alternative is advertising, and advertising is what makes social apps behave the way they do. Once attention is what's being sold, every design decision bends toward keeping you scrolling — that's where infinite feeds, recommendation engines and notification bait come from. Charging a small subscription means the only people we have to satisfy are the ones using the app.

How much is it?

$1.99 a month, or $19.99 a year. There's a Verified tier at $4.99 a month that includes identity verification, and a one-time $99 Founding Member option limited to 1,000 people. Full detail on the pricing page.

Is the free trial really free?

Yes — 30 days with no credit card and no payment details. Nothing starts charging when it ends; you just choose whether to subscribe.

Privacy

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers, data brokers or "partners", and we don't run behavioural advertising anywhere. There is no advertising business here to feed.

Do you track me?

No third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, no cross-app or cross-site tracking, and no profile built from your behaviour. This website carries no trackers and no cookies for tracking. Full detail in the privacy policy.

Can I get a copy of my data?

Any time, from inside the app — Settings, Privacy, Request your data. You get a readable archive of your posts, comments, messages and follows, in both a human-readable and a machine-readable format. Not a pile of raw ID numbers.

Can I delete my account for real?

Yes. Settings, Privacy, Delete your account. Your posts, photos, videos, comments and messages are removed — not deactivated, not hidden pending a change of heart. It cannot be undone, which is the point.

Who can see my posts?

People who follow you. If your account is private, you approve every follower by hand, and nobody else sees your posts, stories or highlights at all. You can block accounts, and blocking works in both directions.

Verification

What does the verified badge mean?

That the person behind the account confirmed their identity with our identity provider. Not that they're famous, and not that they pay us more — a badge you can buy would only mean "subscribed".

What happens to my ID document?

It never touches allora. Verification happens on a page hosted by Stripe, our identity provider, in your own browser. We receive a yes-or-no answer and a reference number. We never see, receive or store your name, date of birth, document number or photographs.
